Hear that? Shhh, listen really close... I hear.... A new DIY project starting! Yay! Back in business! The husband and I are getting ready to tackle our next project. A window seat/reading nook/more freaking storage in our daughters playroom. A few months ago, when Olivia was about 10 months old, I thought it would be a great idea to decorate her playroom in a vintage circus theme. Totally cute right? I painted the ceiling like a circus tent, painted the walls grey, built a ball pit (so awesome) and never decorated. Loser mom alert. Well, I'm a little glad I didn't. (Minus the ceiling, I gotta paint over that darn thing now) I'm glad because I didn't go out and decorate a room that wasn't tailored to Olivia's needs. She isn't a vintage circus type kid. She's a mommy type kid. She loves kitchens and babies, and toy cribs and baby high chairs. So, it's time to, well, kind of redecorate. I'm leaving the walls grey and having my super awesome, totally talented husband build me a built in window seat with storage underneath and two cabinet towers on each side for her playroom. I want it to be functional for us, but I also want it to be functional for the next homeowner. (TIP: Anytime you are doing a DIY project, always think about how it's going to look when it's time to sell!) We have limited space and unlimited toys. So stay tuned for pictures and a whole step by step tutorial. This time, get ready for picture overload. In fact, here's the picture that I sent my dear sweet husband outlining exactly what I want!
